So, what’s daily schedule by the way?
A daily schedule is an everyday plan that gives a list of events or tasks and the time at which each one should happen or be done.
The main purpose of daily schedule is to help you set priorities, stay focused, and not distracted in achieving your daily goals, and more importantly deal with procrastination.
How to create a daily routine that works
If at some point in time you think you’ve not been achieving much in a day, and now on a search for how to schedule your day, your search stops here. Practice the following guidelines to develop healthy daily habits and let your productivity soar with time.
1. Draft a list
What and what do you need to get done today?
These ideas may not flow in immediately, write down the ones that came to your mind first and revisit your note to jot down more options as they come across your thought.
No task is too small to be on your list hence you will feel fulfilled by the end of the day for achieving it all. Now that you have made a list of events or things to get done today, let’s move to the next step of creating healthy habits to achieve your daily goals.
2. Which should come first and why?
Since you already have a rough sketch of how you want your day to be in your first list of tasks today, it’s time to identify your top priorities and sort them in that order. You can have different pen colors that mean different priorities for every task when you circle them.
How do you want to start? You can make a column for remarks or a brief description of why you want this one first before the other so that even when you get busy in the day, you won’t deviate from your schedule as planned.
3. Task grouping
After sorting your task list in the hierarchy that’s satisfactory to add color to your day, try looking out for similar tasks and group them together so you can carry out such tasks simultaneously. For example, washing dishes and cooking can be grouped since they will both take place in the kitchen.
4. Figure out the best time for every task
Sometimes it’s easier to have in your mind a full list of activities for the day than figuring out the proper time management required to achieve them. Every single day counts in your weekly schedules and that’s why you have to be more careful building and adapting the structure that works best for you.
It is proven over time that splitting your daily schedule into; morning, afternoon, and evening gives the best schedule structure for increasing your productivity with each passing day.
5. Attach timing to every task
Although you have in the previous step grouped your daily tasks into three, there’s the need to be more specific regarding the time when it should be done. In the morning section, you can split your morning hours for all your morning grouped tasks. Even if your daily schedule seems difficult to achieve, the timing will help you stick to your schedule knowing that if the time elapses you have missed something on the plan.
6. Plan ahead of time
It is always good to plan ahead of time if you want to achieve more for the day.
Despite making this guide as succinct as possible, it can take you a lot of time trying to figure out how to plan your day in the morning. Planning a day ahead or making a draft in the night or having fixed schedules for your daily activities every week, is one of the profound ways to build a daily schedule for yourself and stick to it.
7. A 30 days try
It’s recommendable to stay flexible because your routine might not get in as you’ve outlined in your notebook. Every good thing requires time to become better which you should give your new daily routine at least a month and then begin to apply fixes where necessary.
